Okay, I've got a bit of housekeeping to do. The FTC has issued new guidelines for bloggers. And when I say guidelines, I mean you can get fined or thrown in jail if you don't adhere to them. I've always disclosed when a publisher sent me a free book or product to review. I've let you all know that I worked for Whole Foods where I also continue to shop. So I'm in compliance but in the future you'll be seeing the following icons when relevant at the end of each blog post.
"Writer got a free book" this is pretty self explanatory, I got a free book for review purposes.
"Writer got fed" some wonderful person gave me free food! For the record, if anyone would like to give me a free meal, I'd love to have one. This has actually never happened, but a girl can dream.
"Writer got some sweet gadgets" I received a product to review. Most often I buy my own but I did get some gadgets at the Food Bloggers Conference that I'll be reviewing in the future.
"Writer received mad scrilla" I got paid to write about a product or service. Don't think this will ever happen but there's a graphic for it.
"Writer got a helluva schwag bag" Companies often give out schwag bags at conferences and such. I got a nice one at the Food Bloggers Conference.
This is my favorite! It says "Writer got busy with member of story." I originally thought I would never use this graphic but as my DH (dear husband or damn husband depending on the day) pointed out he does appear in my blog posts from time to time. So here's my dilemma, do I have to use this graphic when he appears in a blog story? Did we have to get busy on the day the blog post was conceived? Or do we wait till the blog entry posts? Shouldn't the fact we're married sort of indicate a general level of busyness? Let me know what you think or if this is way too much information?
Okay, FTC we all good??

Hysterical! Don't they have better things to do?! Love the icons.

Hilarious. At least they have a sense of humor. By the way, if you ask the members of any primarily male community (I only say that because they are the only communities that I'm familiar with), marriage generally indicates a certain level of "non-busyness." Count yourselves lucky!
